South Africa's leading retailer, Woolworths, wanted an inspiring and educational in-house training platform for their Visual Merchandising community. It needed to be creative, accessible and follow Woolworth's existing visual language. So, McNally Unlimited created "VM skills to go" with a fresh visual twist, relaxed copywriting style and colourful content strategy.

Why "VM skills to go"? Well, Visual Merchandisers are always on the go, grabbing a coffee while checking everything's taped, level or pinned correctly. Their profession involves intense attention to detail and all kinds of weird skills, cool tools and loads of knowledge about different creative techniques and VM principles. They also have to be up-to-speed with the latest retail and fashion trends.

The platform was launched on instagram and internal Woolworth's channels in June 2021 and has been running ever since thanks to the long-term content strategy created by McNally Unlimited. The easy-to-use design and copy templates ensure in-house creation stays on the go!
VM'ers don't have time for long explanations or complex instructions, so the platform offers short instructional films, fun VM guides and bite-sized posts with new shop windows and in-store displays. Plus, posts and reels about VM tools, tips, local retail news, webinars, awards and micro profiles of all the talented VM people at Woolies ... in your pocket and ready to go!

McNally Unlimited not only created the name, visual identity, copy and editorial content strategy for "VM skills to go", but also some pretty cool merch, like VM jumpsuits and on-the-go coffee cups for busy VM folks.
