South Africa's leading retailer, Woolworths, wanted an inspiring and educational in-house training platform for their Visual Merchandising community. The platform needed to be creative, accessible, easy to use, and to speak Woolworth's visual language. So, McNally Unlimited created "VM skills to go" with a punchy visual identity, relaxed copywriting style and colourful content strategy. The platform was launched on instagram and internal channels in June 2021, and is still very much on the go!
Why "VM skills to go"? Well, Visual Merchandisers are always on the go, grabbing a quick coffee and running around checking everything's taped, level or pinned correctly. Their profession involves intense attention to detail and all kinds of cool skills, weird tools and knowledge of loads of different creative techniques and VM principles. On top of this, they also need to be up-to-speed with the latest retail and fashion trends. They're masters of multi-tasking and crazy deadlines.

The platform handles a variety of content, showcasing instructional films, fun VM guides and bite-sized posts with amazing shop windows and in-store displays. There are also posts and reels about VM tools, tips, local retail updates, webinars, awards, news and micro profiles of all the talented VM people at Woolies ... all in your pocket and ready to go!

McNally Unlimited not only created the name and visual identity for "VM skills to go", but also all copy, and a carefully curated editorial content structure designed to be easy and playful. They also created cool merch, like VM jumpsuits and on-the-go coffee cups for busy VM folks.
